Hi all--
I burned a Squash demo of my daughter from an analog camcorder onto a DVD recorder, and that works in the maching to play. Now I want to use my computer to make copies of that clip, and I cannot do it! I can play the clip on my computer, but cannot do anything with it.

Set up: plexor dvd+-rw drive and roxio suite 7

I copied the file: VTS_23_1 using decrypter onto my hard drive, but Roxio still can not see it or recognize it as a video file. Heck, Roxio does not even recognize that there are clips to capture on the DVD.

Can anyone tell me what stupid thing I am not doing right?

If you got Roxio, use the disc copy feature.

alternatively, you can use TMPG DVD author to import the dvd files and create a new authored dvd from them.

This is only really of any use if you want to personalise each copy

A guide for using this program is here :-

Just remember to use 'Add DVD video' and not 'Add file'

lablom, you will have to rip all the files with DVD Decrypter, not just one .VOB (in your case "VTS_23_1").

Then, you can use DVD Shrink Reauthor mode to select the part you wish to copy. ;)
