I don't think your problem is encryption. My guess is your using poor quality media. Nero's disc copy feature can copy a backup ... if you use quality media to start. Your source disc must be able to be read/ripped.

Sounds like the source disc is bad if it always stops at 92%.

Have you done a scan for read errors on the source disc? Try DVD Info Pro or Nero CD/DVD Speed.

Did the scans come out error free?

Think of it this way.

If you read me a sentence, but left out a few words here and there, I could still get the gist of what you were talking about. Because not ALL of the words were necessary.

But if you asked me to write it down, Exactly as you had it, I would copy the errors as well, and would need every single word for the sentence.

Although this doesnt explain why the source disc *seems* fine, it will help understand the problem.

Which is, a reader can continue through a "null" , that is 'I can still listen while you miss a word'

While a writer can refuse (unless specifically told to) to write null or bad data.
'I refuse to write a sentence with a word missing.'

This (incredibly simplified, no offence) is the reason why the source disc "seems" fine. It may not be, it may be just that 1 frame of video data is bad, and hence can easily be missed while watching it.
