Boot AR2 "With Code" using Swap Magic

I have noticed that a lot of the discussions deal with booting your ps2 using ar2 without using the code feature. In my case I would like to use the codes but when I actully get into the game they dont work.

I have a flip top ps2 with ar2 and gameshark along with swap magics.

Has anybody been able to boot the following with codes activated and no problems and if so could you include step-by-step instructions. (I can get tomb raider to boot using the cd loader; but when used with ar2 and gameshark it just locks up before the game starts; on the other hand with other games that dont require the cd loader they boot but the cheats just dont work)

hey im not sure but i just want to no wot a flip card and a swap card and magic card is cos i got a ar2 and i wna no wot im am gona have to do to play burnt games

choose your cheats, when it tells you to insert your game disc, insert either sm dvd or sm cd, then wait a couple of sec's, and press x, when sm loads either swap for cdloader or dvdloader depending on which sm disc you used, when the cd/dvdloader screen appears, eject and insert a high toc disc (I use dvdloder, so I use smdvd as the toc disc), then when it tells you to change the disc and press x, don't change the disc, just press x, the screen will turn red and then you will get the message to change the disc by ea method, now swap for your burned disc using the flip top.

you can use your ar2 to load cd and dvd backups, but loading dvd backups is a pain in the arse, look for the thread on here that tells you how to load a cd backup using ar2, then just make a cogswap loader exploit and load that to your mem card using the ar2, then you can load dvd backups much easier

sm dvd= swap magic dvd smcd= sap magic cd dvdloader is a prog that is used to load problem games and cd loader is the same thing the only dofference is dvdloader is burned to dvd and cdloader is burned to cd, some people use dvdloader cause there ps2's don't read the cdloader very well.

Thanks for the reply, I tried the method that you listed above on Metal Gear, after the dvdloader and the "ea swap" it never booted the screen just turned black. I tested the game with just the swapmagic dvd and it worked. Do you have any more ideas on why it wont ar2 codes wont work with backups

list the exact way you are trying to boot the game with cheats, so I can see if there are any steps you are doing wrong, make it clear as to what discs you are using too ie, sm dvd or sm cd, and what you are using for the TOC disc
