AVI to DVD image seems to be slow.

I don't know how to explain, but i'll try.
I have downloaded shrek 2, and i tried to convert to dvd using the guides that re here even tried a guide avi to dvd using dvd2avi program.
in the end of doing the coverion the image seems to be very slow. It's almost the same thing when we are trying to see something in Media Player but the computer is very busy and the image is not continuous but has some litle freeze.
When i use Tmpg i use the option Highest Quality Very Slow.
