I have been successfully using DVD X Platinum for over a year and just recently (3 weeks ago) run into a problem. When I used the "simple" program to make a back-up copy of one of my DVDs, it only copied the first screen, burned it to the blank DVD and then indicated that the entire disk have sucessfully been copied. Has anyone encounted this problem? Since this software is now banned from being sold, could a "virus" been sent to users that caused the software to malfunction?

I just posted something similar beore I red yours.
I bough my DVD x copy few months ago & everthing worked (I was usually using simple option)
today I noticed that it tells me that it will not decrypt movies/dvds which it did before without any problem, now this.
I registered mine when purchaed, perhaps they've done something to registered versions from their end before closing shop.
If you are also having problems which is more or less like mine than it's safe to say that dvd x copy is gone out the window for now.

The software is banned from being sold but the ruling does not affect existing registered owners who purchased their copy legitimately. To suggest a virus has been released is a bit over the top. The software may be banned from being legaly sold in the USA but that`s not the case in other countries. If you take those facts into consideration you`ll realise the virus idea is somewhat improbable

YORDAN, thanks for the response.

I just thought that maybe some company that was involved in the suit may have done somthing to stop previous users from continuing to use the software. Since I was not having any problem for over a year and then to now find that I only the first chapter of the dvd will be copied and burned after 321 Studio went out of business, I was only trying to think of a reason that had happened. Sounds like someone sending a virus to incapacate the software was possibly paranoia on my part, so I guess something else is wrong
