This is prob a really easy qst but been drivin me mad for ages. I aquired legally, a copy of a film which is in DivX format which i require to back up to DVD-R. The only problem is, when i come to open the file in Win Media Player before encoding it - just to check the quality etc, it wont open. I just get it as audio. I presume this is a codec problem, but i have DivX 5.0.2 installed so obviously i need somethin else. The file is a DivX MPG4 V3. Any help really appreciated. Thanks

hey 02004976 you can use this freeware at http://www.headbands.com/gspot/ this will let you know if there is a codec you need....hope this helps you

Download and instal FFDShow, should work fine then.
