this may be a dumb question. what is the "cheapest and simplest" way to have videotape videos stored onto cds for archival and future viewings purposes?

Well the Cheapest way is not the Simplest way and the Simplest way is Definately not the Cheapest way and neither of them are the Best way....

All you need is a capture device and capture software and some Codecs and of cource as fast PC with a LOT of drive space on a seperate drive.....
