i want to know what do i need in program to convert a avi to mpeg (vcd)?
to play on a dvd player?
i want to be able to burn the movie to a cd-r.

this guide will tell you how to convert pretty much any format into a standard compliant mpeg1(vcd) file with TMPGEnc.

no, you can download the latest version of tmpgenc from here though if you want: http://download.pegasys-inc.com/download_files/TMPGEnc-2.521.58.169-Free.zip

just follow the guide and you'll be right.
