I bought a FlipTop and everything works but I have to put something slightly heavy on top to stop disc from making a loud grindin noise. Any suggestions?

Just trying to get mine.

Someone else asked the same question a couple of weeks ago, and what I suggested was, to put some sticky pads on the rim that the flip top lid lands on when it is shut, this will dampen the vibration, you will have to expeiment a bit with positioning them, so that they don't stop the lid from shutting altogether

Replace the DVD Drive Magnet (white round thing) that came with the Flip Top with the original PS2 DVD Drive Magnet. That worked for me.

On my flip top, I was able to adjust the position of the white doughnut by taking it out and loosening 2 screws that hold the doughnut in place. If yours is similarly enabled, this should help. This eliminated the noise in mine and reads all discs just fine now.
