I use the following method to convert avi files to dvd

firstly i encode the files in Ulead media studios video editing software using a high a sample rate as possible 9,000kb/ps
then i create the dvd files in Ulead again DVD movie factory 3
I save the file as dvd folders the old ts video and ts sound, I then I use dvd shrink to do a back up of these always checking the extra analis and sharp settings for extra quality and output the lot as an iso I get very good results with this method and i have tried many other ways. The only problem is that occasionally I will get a out of synch audio which can be fixed manually by splitting the audio video in ulead video editor and using a obivous sound cue (ex a glass banging a bar or a door slamming)
