I've always used Ritek branded media for the reason the top surface has a protective coating applied. What is the top surface like on the Ritek Matt and shiny silver blank dvds?

In the past I've purchased shiny silver blank cdrs in which the top surface was very prone to scratches thus ruining the cd.

Perhaps my question was misunderstood. Is there a difference (top surface) between the Ritek Branded:

and the silver matt:

I have the shiny silver dvds in which the top surface is not rugged enough for use by kids. The top surface scratches to easy. The Branded Riteks work just fine however if the silver matt works out they would be less expensive to purchase.
