I used DVD decrypter to decrypt all files from Total Recall to my VIDEO_TS folder. I opened IFOedit0.95 and selected VTS_01_0 and did the VOB extras method and then used 'get VTS sectors'. after all that when i select any of the files and then click to "play DVD' i get an error message that says "No Valid DVD volume could be located, do you want to continue". Here are the files found:

VIDEO_TS.bup
VIDEO_TS.ifo
VTS_01_0.bup
VTS_01_0.ifo
VTS_01_1.vob
VTS_01_2.vob
01_3.vob
01_4.vob
01_5.vob

IS this correct? should i burn?

NO, you should not burn. You are missing a couple of files. Your file structure (not necessarily file size) should be EXACTLY the same as below.

VIDEO_TS.BUP 12,288
VTS_01_0.BUP 67,584
VIDEO_TS.IFO 12,288
VTS_01_0.IFO 67,584
VIDEO_TS.VOB 178,176
VTS_01_0.VOB 12,288
VTS_01_1.VOB 1,073,565,696
VTS_01_2.VOB 1,073,565,696
VTS_01_3.VOB 1,073,565,696
VTS_01_4.VOB 1,073,565,696
VTS_01_5.VOB 240,500,736

It looks like you are missing a couple of VOB files.

"No Valid DVD volume could be located, do you want to continue".

This usually just means that your files aren't in a folder named VIDEO_TS. If you just click yes it should play anyway.

Yes those files are in a folder called VIDEO_TS. When i click play anyway it does play but starts at chapter2. If i click on chapter 1 it skips to chapter2. It has 34 chapters and chapter 33/34 are the beginning chapters. So i dont know how it got messed up being the last chapters. When it does play it looks and sounds great.

Well i ripped again using DVD decrypter. I burned the folder VIDEO_TS using Nero. After burning i have 2 folders: AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS. AUDIO_TS has nothing in it and VIDEO_TS has the files you listed. It plays fine in IFOedit but will not play in my stand alone player or on my pioneer104. It does start to play in PS2. Im not havin gmuch luck with burning DVD-R movies!

Rubberman,

Keep at it man, it took me two weeks to to my first dvd-9 to dvd-r split. I'm working on a guide to outline alot of the problems I had with it. Just remember to use Nero 5.5.8.0 on your DVD movie rips. That was the BIGGEST problem I encountered. Any other version of nero is going to either burn a bad disc, or screw you blind with errors... (or so my experience has been) I'll have a guide up by the end of this week I think.

How did you burn it using Nero?
ie. what options did you choose?

If you choose the DVD video option then it sets up the folders for you.

if you didn't then there are other options you need to choose, like no multisession, no joliet etc. It's best to choose the DVD video option if you aren't sure what you are doing and just drag your files to the VIDEO_TS folder that is created for you.

It's also good practice to make an AUDIO_TS folder if you aren't using the DVD video wizard (just leave it empty)

I suggest you buy some DVD-RW to practice on to save yourself coasters

then put your files in VIDEO_TS

Nero will tell you if they are ok or not

Needakip,

I'd agree with what you say.

Just drop your files into the VIDEO_TS folder. Nothing else to do. (excpept burn of course)

When i use IFOedit and select VOBextras. I select english subpicture, digital 6ch. sound and 2 channel sound and click Strip it. It then takes me to the VOBid screen. It has 7 VOBid. When ones do i select? none are selected.
