I have the same problem, but it doesn't happen all the time. I can play the DVD-R on my stand alone player and view the movie almost to the end and it will start to skip like it's possessed or something. If I let continue it will skip all the way to the end of the movie. If I stop/pause and back up a few frames, sometimes it will continue normally or it will start skipping again. If I turn everything off for a while and restart from the beginning, select the chapter it's fine or it may decide to bypass the frames where I had the problem and skip somewhere else in the movie. Like I said this doesn't happen all the time, sometimes I can play the same movie from begining to end without a problem other times it will skip. It doesn't seem to matter which player I use or even which movie(Gladiator, Kill Bill, Out of Time, Pirates of the Caribbean). It can skip on the other stand alone or in on the PC. I have tried cleaning the players, different media, different players, even different software and it still occurs.
The problem always occurs somewhere from the half point to the end of the movie; if the it decides to skip. I don't have problems with VCD's they play fine, just DVD-R's. I am using Decrypter, DVD2One and Gear Pro Professional or Nero.
Suggestions to solve this problem would be helpful.
