SNL: 25 years of laugh DVD backup problem

I am using DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink trying to backup my SNL dvd and ive run into some problems - DVD Decrypter works all the way through but then i try to use DVD shrink to shrink the DVD and about 1/3 of the way through it locks up my computer - i have to hit the reset button on my case to reboot - I cant do anything - Any suggestions on how to backup this DVD? Since it is not a movie, is there something different i need to do?
