Oh man, original dvds work fine.

But such a headache w/ backups. Some brands work, some don't. Returned so many different media types to the stores & online.

Finally figured it may be the player causing the problem. Returned it & got a sanyo for 15 bucks more & it works great. + or -, any speed, works fine.

In short, stay away from Durabrand for your backups. It's not worth the headache.
