I tried to make a backup copy of my Silent Hill 3 game, but I can't get it to load. The black screen with the browser comes up. I used DVD Decrypter to create an ISO file and then burnt that ISO file using DVD Decrypter. I tried it on Princo as well as a Ritek DVD-R.

I'm not sure what modchip I have in it, as the PS2 console was given to me as a gift from a friend visiting from overseas. The console already had a modchip in it, and she doesn't know what type it is.

I don't know if it's the laser or a bad backup or something else.

Original DVD games - Works fine
Backup DVD games - Don't work so far
Backup PS2 cd games - Works fine
PS1 cd games - Don't work
DVD movies, original and backups - work 50% of the time

Normally when I play the original DVD games or backup CD games, I just turn the power on at the back of the console, then press the Eject button, put in the DVD/CD, then press Reset and it works.

Any ideas on what else I could try?
