I have a beautifully photograped movie on HD. I mastered on HD in FCP and used a DV cam downconvert to create a DVD in DVD studio pro. I have played with gamma and brightness levels both in the sequence before encoding and in the compressor settings and can not get the film to look as it should. If I encode it as is, it is way too bright-the 2:35 matte is gray. The actual film is noirish in tone and looks way too bright in all the wrong places. I'm aware of he DV 25 and NTSC difference &>5 vs. 0 IRE. Is there anyw way to set levels to achieve the proper output on my DVD?
