Can someone help to figure a way to get around the encryption error. I am trying to backup some movies and they will state that they are encrypted. I have dvd x copy platinum 4.0.3.8.

The best solution is to get AnyDVD ($39):
http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/dvd_tools/anydvd.cfm
You can use the full version for 21 days

If you don't want to get AnyDVD you can try a new patin coffin:
vso driver-117
http://www.mtc-comp.com/vso/patin-couffin_setup.exe

Or you can try to get Platinum RF(ripper free) w/ 321Rip (to re-enable the ripper).
