Ok i have a neo2 and AR2 v2.I got madden2005 full dvd game in mdf format so burnt it with alcohol 120%. I did the swap method boot and it went past the action replay part but when it booted it just gave me a Please inset a Playstation 2 disc etc!
I then got the original copy of True crime and copied it and i got the same problem again! Whats wrong here?Is it the way im burning it? i burnt them on a TDK and at 2x (cos there wasnt a 1x option).
Ive also got some DVDrips but for some reason after putting them on a CD they just won't boot.!
Any help will be appreciated.

how are you using the ar2 to boot?, can you boot cd-r backups?, try to give as much info as you can to make it easier for us to help you

I can boot most of the games i got on CD. Tekken tag, Mashed, ridge racer v etc!
To boot the DVD-r i use the hold reset untill i see the "too many codes" method.
could it be because madden 05 and true crime have double protection or something?
with the DVDrips on CD-r i try to do the same boots as i would with a dvd-r / cd-r. No idea why they aint working though. not too bothered though, as i rather get my DVD backups working.
not sure what other info i could tell you...
i got a 30003 ps2 (so i take it its an early version). i take it it can play dvd-r, anyway of checking?

if you can play dvd movie backups then you know it will read dvd-r, but that's not to say if you can't play them that it won't read dvd-r, try using the cogswap loader, you can put it on your mem card and use a psx game and cdloader to boot dvd backups

Whats the cogswap loader? How do i use it? I d/l the cdloader yesterday but then found out you need swapmagic or something aswell?

try this way to boot your dvdr backups
use ar2 to boot cd loader, when booted press eject and swap for orignal high toc ps2 dvd based game, press eject to send back in, wait for it to say ps2 dvd in lower left of tv screen, when that appears press x, wait for swap by ea method prompt, when it appears swap for backup by flip/slide/no solder etc, press x

burnt CD loader on a cd but it won't boot for some reason :s i do the start game -> without codes, insert cd then press x trick but just doesnt wanna boot :S
I must be doing something wrong!

Nah ive only got MSN. I got a couple of CD-r backups when i got the ps2 and i can boot them up allright (last time i tried neway..). but from all the cd-r's ive burnt only Mashed has worked! (and with that i gotta do the hold reset methos!).

Coded, are you pressing eject to swap for cdloader?? I found that if I use the hold reset method cd loader WONT boot!? But when I press eject and swap action replay for cdloader, it works every time!
Pressing the eject button only works with neo2 though ppl : P

Yeah i press eject (while got reset pressed down cos then i need to use the reset method to insert the DVD-backup later on).

try making the cogswap loader exploit, burn it to cd and see if it will boot, if it does you can use that to load dvd's, you can get the exploit and instyctions from the link in my sig'

Burn cdloader at 1x on a infiniti cd!

what software did you use? You cant just burn the image file to cd, you need to use alcohol or Nero to burn the image.
