Howdy mates, I'm a newb here to the PS2 modding community and I want to backup my dying copy of GT3 before it's gone. I am having trouble locating Swap Disks and other products and am looking for an alternative solution. I saw this HDLoader but I realized that some of my backups won't work on it. Then I had a thought, what if I could put the HDLoader on the HDD and then load the HDD into my PC and directly send the ISOs to the HDLoader? Is this at all possible? Then, instead of putting in the burned CDs, I could rip the ISO and put it onto the HDD from my PC.

(Did I use enough acrynoms? :p )

Any ideas?

Cheers

You can try to get winhiip from here if they didn't ban your ip:
http://forums.psxforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=22748

If you can't get it, try HDL_Dumb from here:
http://www.ps2ownz.com/modules.php?name=News&file=showarticle&threadid=22787

It should be a little easier that what you described. Both programs above support ripping a game directly from your cd or dvd drive (cd will work if it's a cd disk that the orig game is on, I've used it with tetris)

Just take the hard drive out of your PS2 and place it in your PC. Turn the PC on and load up one of those two programs. (If you look for the PS2 hard drive in My Computer you won't see it, don't worry about it)

With HDL_Dumb you'll want to select the PS2 hard drive and the right CD/DVD drive and hit Install.

I don't use Winhiip a lot but You should be able to select the PS2 drive and hit add from CD/DVD (I think)

It should be easy to figure out HDL_Dumb, there aren't a lot of options. You can install from .iso's with both programs. I've only used that feature for an SNES emu and it worked fine.

Let me know if you have any probs.
