Hi, i've just downloaded an AVi file from KaZaA, and when trying to burn it on Nero 5 as a VCD, there is an error encoding the file even-though the file plays on my PC.
I think that the file may have been ripped from a DVD because the quality is good. What am i doing wrong? And how do i get it to burn?

I also tried a program called virtual dub and when I open the file it says ?VirtualDub has detected an improper VBR audio encoding in the source AVI file and will rewrite the audio header with standard CBR values during processing for better compatibility. This may introduce up to 31958 ms of skew from the video stream. If this is unacceptable, decompress the *entire* audio stream to an uncompressed WAV file and recompress with a constant bitrate encoder. (bitrate: 144.8 27.2 kbps)

Someone PLEASE help....

Heres an easy way to convert your Avi to Vcd with vituadub and Tmpeg. Open Virtuadub....hit open file...find your avi....ignore the VBR warning...we are going to decompress to WAV file anyway. The wav will be re-encoded with Tmpeg along with your Video file.Click Video tab in virtuadub...select direct stream copy....click audio tab...select full processing mode....click audio tab again...hit conversion...select 44100....click high quality button...hit OK.
Click File button again...then click Sav to Wav....name your file...hit save. Now Open Tmpeg...when you have to select your input video....select your Avi....right below it for the audio...hit browse and find the Wav file you saved using virtuadub...;) If you need help with settings in virtuadub...just say so i have some good ones....especially for making VCD's from ripped DVD avi's. ALWAYS look for the best quality. Im running a 800mhz PIII and i can convert a High Quality Divx,Avi blahblah to Vcd in under 3 hours. And they loog great on my tv :)- MikeOD

OK MikeOD, i've tried and it works well i haven't tried burning it, but there are no audio problems. But the video is stretched in height and everything looks skinny (thin), how do i change it?

Oh and i'm using a 1.8GHz processor so can you PLEASE give me the best quality options for a VCD...?
