DVDMaestro: "No MPEG2 decoder" error

Whenever I start up DVDMaestro, it gives me an error message claiming that there is no MPEG2 decoder available, and that the preview function will be disabled (or something to that effect). I'm a little confused because the software-based DVD player that came packaged with my Pioneer plays DVDs just fine, as does DVD2AVI. Any idea what I'm doing wrong?
