I spotted some cheap media on http://www.dvdr.co.uk called GIGATAIN, they look pretty decent. So I just wondered if anyone knew anything about this brand?

Gigatain one of the name put on a low budget media,it is manufactured in Taïwan ; same product is given different names for many outlets across Europe and the USA .
""Good quality 4x budget disc; high performance and compatability; low prices"" is what is advertised by Media Reseller across the UK."" ( http://www.dvdr.co.uk/ )

Thanks for the feedback, as it happens I went ahead and bought 25 of these GIGATAIN fellas, they turned up sharpish. I've used 8 so far and they're as sweet as can be. Especially so at £6.00 for the cake!! Interestingly I noticed that the pack is labelled as originating from a a european source; and I for one will be recommending them to my mates. Nice one http://dvdr.co.uk/

I have used GIGATAIN in the past and I have always been satisfied by its "A" Grade quality.
I didn't know about this http://www.dvdr.co.uk website, it must be a new one as their prices are cheaper than many other places.
Actually £10 for 50 GIGATAIN discs, I'll buy them today.
Cheers

vdspmsab 01 isn't one of the better makes and that's putting it nicely :)

Hmm, ok thanks for the advice. They've been ok so far so ill just play this one by ear, so to speak. Another Question then, on the same site they also sell what they call "Premium grade Sony DVD-R Duplication Stock. Ideal for use in a multiburner environment. Excellent printable surface dry in seconds" http://www.dvdr.co.uk/search.php?selectmediatype=Recordable%20DVD&selectproducttype=DVD-R .Never seen this before, on 100 spindles too? Curious, the other end of the scale perhaps?

This media is really bad. I have bought 10 EMTEC dvd+r(vdspmsab 001) 2 months ago. Well, today... none works. The worst media i've used so far.
I' ve good results with CMC MAG (though i've heard bad things about it).
