Any dark purple or silver DVD-R will work. I have tried tons and those colors seem to work well.

Traxdata, White top, LynxDV.. any Ritek G3 disk works well on PS2. In general, they are the best choises for budget disks. VErbatims are of course the best, but still a bit expensive.

I have found that the older versions of PS2
are quite picky.
All backups for any ps2 will work best with dark purple media made in japan. Apple, Maxell, Mitsui ect... Be carefull Apple also sells DVD-R
made in Singapore (doesn't work)
