Help with burning Ps2 from hard drive.

Can anyone help a newbie with some basic advice on the steps to burn Ps2 from the hard drive from down loaded games.What I need ect.Have a basic P2s.Do I need a mod chip?I have a DVD burner and Nero and CDRwin also DVD copy.Dont know the first thing about it!Any help would be great..Thanks...

you will need to mod your ps2 to play backup ps2 games you can either use a solder in no swap mod chip or you could use the swapmagic discs with the fliptop/slidecard. To burn the images Nero will work but you could also use DVD Decrypter, another usefull program to you will be win rar

Thanks for that.So I do need a mod chip.Its just that some things ive read say you do need one and others say you dont.I guess I do:)When you burn with Nero what do I burn it as?Like a data disk,ISO,mixed?Any help or advice would be great.Thanks for your time.

to burn with Nero load up Nero 6, close the new complation window, go across the menu's to were it says recorder, click it and select burn image from the drop down menu.

Does it depend on what format the file is in?Such as iso,cue,bin?

aslong as the file format is supported by Nero it doesn't matter,i dont think Nero supports the burning of .gi and mds/mdf files

One more thing.Do you have to burn using DVD,CD-..Playstation dosent surport +?..Not sure just see everything says use minus format as my DVD burner only burns in +...

if you have a version 1-3 it wont read DVD+R. if you have a vesion 4 it might read DVD+R. If you have anything over 5 it will read DVD+R.

dont get a no solder mod becuase you will probably end up blowing a fuse. i have a matrix infinity and have never had a single problem with it. it has booted every game i have ever thrown at it.

Blowing a fuse with no solder mod?So the solder chips are the way to go?
