Wont Play DVD soundcard error

my ps2 just broke and I wanted to watch a dvd on my computer. I stuck minority report in and it loaded and the program loaded to play it, but this is the message im getting

"Playback failed due to an error with the audio subsystem. Please ensure the sound card is properly installed or close any applications that may use the sound card"

and from another dvd program that i have i got pretty much the same message

"Video display hardware is being used by other applications.

Try again after closing other movie applications. If there are no applications, video settings such as high refresh rate may be inappropriate"

I dont have any others programs running that i know of. I just restarted my comp to get a fresh start^ but im still getting the same message.....
