I have a v7 ps2 and I just bought a 50 pack of Verbatim DVD+R discs and when I try backing up games, they won't run in my ps2 using the slide card and swap magic discs.

I've tried using the cdloader and dvdloader and nothing works. I put the backed up game in and it sits there and it sounds like clicking when it tries to read it.

I first tried to play a backed up version of Star Ocean and that doesn't work, then I tried to but dvdloader on the verbatim disc and it wouldn't load, but the dvdloader would load when I put it on a generic dvd-r disc.

I know my ps2 can play dvd+r discs because I have other games backed up on them and they work just fine.

maybe it's just the wrong brand.

No I don't, I was just wondering if anyone else have made backups using them. They seemed like a pretty decent brand.

Are DVD+R discs better than DVD-R discs?

as a rule I always use dvd-r. They seem to work better. The verbatim dvd-r work with anything. I love those disks. I would try -r's

Ok, I'll try the Verbatim DVD-R discs. I just hope I'll be able to return my DVD+R discs to best buy.

Ive used Verbatim +R's and they worked fine for me...maybe its a conflict with the media and your burner.

Ive backed up all my games using Verbatim DVD+r's and have never had a problem. Perhaps you're using a different type. My disks are a dark purple colour on the bottom. I hear StarOcean is not working for most people at the moment so it could just be the game. I use DVD Decryptor to rip and Nero 6 to burn.
