Just a noob question that might be asked. It is possible to take out the current mod chip? I ran into some problem playing backup disc, and decided to change the mod chip if its possible

It is possible. If you are good at soldering. You need to get a good solder sucker. Then just use the iron to heat the solder back up just enough to suck it back off. make sure if you get too much to put a little back on the lead. I would suck the solder off so you don't run the risk of crossing anything. I like to be sure with small components like that. But you can always just heat up the solder and pull the wires out if you dont want to bother with the other.
