PS2 V4 Model 35003 Laser Problems

MY trusty Ps2 V4 35003 is giving me D:R:E will not read DVD disc of any sorts..

Reads PS1 disc and my HDloader disc so still can play from my HD.

Cleaned laser - Still no joy

Ordered new laser unit - fitted unit last night

Still the same - still reads CD´s ok - D:R:E on dvd

Checked tuning Guide - Install seems ok
Head move along rail perfect
Worm drive OK
Height seems ok - started about 1 1/4 turns out from the screw touching on the rail, then slow turned screw bit by bit checking dvd read took ages, stopped at about 3 turns - still no joy.....

So new laser unit is doing same as old..... Anybody got any idea´s,

HELP HELP HELP PLEASE....

If not will have to buy new PS2 - which Mod chip is best to go for DSM or MAtrix

i have tested the laser diode ohm with a digi multi meter....

CD pot 836 ohm´s arrived Preset

DVD pot 765 ohm´s arrived Preset

PS2 V4 35003 settings http://www.cyber-mag.com/station/laserPS2.htm

CD which is about correct 850 - 900 and it reads Cd´s

DVD which is incorrect should read ...........1200 - 1400

will reinstall tonight see if this cures it

Anybody had this same problem.........NEED HELP PLEASE
