Can ANYONE help me?? I've been having very strange problems with my ripped DVD-R back-ups. I won't rant on about my entire situation (unless someone asks me to). So anyways, I can only think of one last option to try: lower my burn speed!

I use Disk Utility to burn the final disc image, but when I click burn, the option to change the burn speed is ALWAYS greyed out and unavailable. I just want to burn @ 1x. There has got to be a way.. I can't imagine Apple including this "burn speed option" for no reason! Even the phone tech support guy @ apple was stumped. Alas, he couldn't transfer me to a "higher-up" since I'm passed my complimentary phone support phase.

Thanks for ANY input! Can anyone else change the burn speed in Disk Utility?

yah, that might be my only option for some peace of mind. I guess I just didn't want to pay $$ for a burning utility when I have one free on my Mac.

Thanks for the reply... but I guess you're not aware that Disk Utility is an app bundled into Mac OS X. I doubt I could find Disk Utility as a stand-alone. Thanks though!
