hi there.
maybe wasting my time here, and its probably been asked b4, but i am just interested to get feedback on this one.
i am after some video capture/edit/encoding/authoring software programs and have tried a few out, and want to see how u rate them, value for money.
1. DVIO 1.32 (free) to transfer my DV to pc in "raw dv-avi format"
2. TMPGEnc 3.0 express ($58) or TMPGEnc DVD Source Creator 2.0 ($39) as a good all purpose editor and mpeg encoder (has a good file splitter/merger) to trim out all the bits and pieces or to merge several vids together.
3. MainConcept mpeg Encoder 1.4.2 (trial) as a good fast encoder if i dont need to do any editing etc. i dont mind the logo in the corner of the output file, and i dont need its capture option.
4.CinemaCraft encoder basic ($58), as another good quality fast mpeg encoder (no editor or preview screen)
5. DVD-Lab 1.31 ($99) or TMPGEnc DVD Author 1.6 ($68)as an editor and authoring program to import edited or unedited mpeg encoded files for editing and/or authoring to burn to dvd.

i can also buy 2 bundle deals comprising either
1. TMPGEnc 3.0 xpress and TMPGE DVD Author 1.6 for $110 (save $16)
OR
2. DVD-Lab 1.31 and TMPGEnc DVD Source Creator 2.0 for $129 (save $10)
(DVD-Lab is supposed to be much better than TMPGEnc DVD Author 1.6 but is it worth the extra $31 to buy than TMPGEnc DVD Author 1.6
im leaning towards the 1st optionat the moment, as i dont do much authoring.

would like to hear any thoughts about these programs, but i dont want any other options than those mentiones above, and im not interested in using "all in one" programs like Pinnacle studio 9, nero vision xpress etc, i have them both and have not got a lot to say about them as far as quality, need i say more.

thanks in advance for your thoughts everyone....GLEN
