Simple Analog to PC back to Analog...

I am doing athletic sports videos for my daughter to send to colleges.

I have previously used Studio DC10+, but since purchasing a new computer with XP, I cannot get the drivers to load without buying Studio 7 or 8. I want to check all of my options before going with the Studio programs.

I have a vcr that hooks directly to my PC via the DC10 driver.

I need to record the videos back to analog (do not have a dvd burner) to send to the colleges. My new computer has USB2 Ports and a IEEE 1394 Fire wire.

I also previously didn't have a sound card to put sound back onto the VHS. My new system does have audio in and out, so should be okay there.

I never did change or adjust the type of files on the DC10+ program. How would I save the file if I wanted to put a video on a web site?? Can I save a file and burn on CD-Writer that can be viewed in DVD Players?

I am REALLY pretty computer illiterate, as you can probably tell, so laymans terms are appreciated. Thanks in advance for your help and advice.
