I want to add a non-sony hd to my ps2. I am new at this but from what I've read it should be within my abilities.

1. It appears that it is possible to boot the hdd by using a memory card exploit though I'm not sure what that means.

2. Is it possible to download the MC exploit from the PC onto a USB pen drive and then transfer it to the PS2 MC? Could you then run the exploit without a bootdisk?

3. Is it possible to connect the PS2 to a PC using a USB cable and an adapter? This could be real handy for tranfering files back and fort if possible.



If these questions have been answered before then by all means yell at me if it makes you feel like a big boy (or girl) otherwise just direct me where I can find any info that would help.

1) Ya it's possible, but youl'd need someway to boot cd backups to use the MC exploit ie: mod chip, flip top
and if you have those you could just make a burned copy, I don't realy know what the advantage of using MC exploit for this is.

2) No, it's not possible.

Last two questions I'm not to sure about, someone else could probly answer them better.

If u want to send files to the ps2 hd, just take out the hd from the ps2 and stick it in your pc. u can also get a usb to connect the hd to pc without sticking it in but its like 40-50. and i dont think u can hook the mc to the pc.

Is it possible to connect the hdd with a usb cable. I was thinking about getting a external enclousehttp: and connect it trough the USB.
Would that work???

NO you cant connect the hd with a usb cable...
You need to get a NETWORK ADAPTER AngeloE9.
