heya everyone

ive got a broadband adaptor and a messiah 2 chipped ps2. i got myself a copy of hdloader and dropped in an old 10gig harddisk, after checking it was compatible via... i forget the site... before i put in the harddisk i deleted all partitions to make space for the ps2 partitions

anywhos, booted up hdloader, "ooh youve got a hd" followed by "formatting, be patient". 40 mins later im becoming slightly less patient... soo i reset, boot up hd loader and it sits there on the loading logo screen.

Balls... so i find another HD, this time a 20gig bad boy also with its model number listed as working by a few people, same thing. hang on formatting, hang on logo. incidently i put the HD back in the PC and loaded up one of the PS2 HDD tools and it showed the FS and offered me the option to install a game to it. but i didnt.

next i try to format the drives with the dms hd explorer tool (ive done my research...) and it formatted fine, then at the install hd explorer stage the tool crashes. as does hdloader when i tried it.

so the question is... does anyone have any experience in this situation? after reading old posts it looks like ive an old school broadband adaptor and this has happened to a few people before. its an ethernet style btw. but does this mean that my ps2/broadband isnt going to work with any HDs? or is it pot luck? or is it that old broadband adapters only work with drives over 40gig as Sony have said all along?

if anyone has any advice at all it would be apreciated :)
