Nero 2 Read Error- Invalid File, Parameter is incorrect

I have been using both Nero 2 and CloneDVD2 for the past 4 months. Now the dvd drive will play movies but won't read files anymore. When I launch Nero 2 and CloneDvd2, I receive an error message saying "Nero 2 has encounter problem and cannot continue. Invalid file name; the parameter is incorrect".

The Liteon dvd drive will read files from Decrypter but not from Nero 2 and CloneDvd2. also, it will not read file in Windows explorer. I returned the first dvd thinking it was defective, but the second one is the same. Please help.
My system is Win XP, Intel 3.ghz, 1024mg Ram, 400 watt power supply.
