no bootup with chipmod ps2 v4

I just got my buddy to solder my ps2 with a chipmod for v4 and he`s good at it. my problem is that it won`t boot any games. originals work but not burnt games. it booted up once after ten tries then died. i`m very confident that it isn`t the soldering job.
any solutions?

how did you burn your game and what brand media?

I burned with DVD Decrypter and used a tdk dvd+r.

I just used decrypter to rip and burn a game and it kinda works. sometimes i have to reset it alot and turn it off, so on and so forth. any comments?
