Question about DVD2AVI audio settings

I doing this for the first time, however on the guide that im following it say it should take about an hour with a Pentium 3/800, now i have a pentium 4 1.8 and so far it has taken 1:18:18 but still has over six hours to go. So am i doing it wrong or will it quciken up.
