I have codecs up the wazoo on my system (as reported by AVIcodec and Gspot)...I'm worried this may be causing problems.

First, does anyone know of a tool that can look at file and tell you which specific codec/DLL will be called to process the file.

Second, anyone know of a tool that simplifies the removal of codecs from the system. Not just unregistering, but complete removal.

The program you want is called DXMan shows all codecs, and a removal option.
