Cannot format HD by HD loader

Dear all,

I brought network adaptor and 80G Harddisk for PS 2. When I boot HD loader from PS2, the message only saying that it is formatting please wait. I wait for about half an hour. Is it right?

No. Thats not right. Mine asked me if I wanted to format before it did (pretty sure). Then it only took 30 seconds (if that) to format. Of course I had to redo all of that because I didn't have the jumper set to master.

Make sure you do that. You may have to reformat with a pc and partition magic to be able to try to format it with the hd loader again (that's what I ended up doing). What type of hdd do you have? Make, model, etc...

Actually, I have set the HD to master and I have checked the hd model. It is fully compatible with PS2.

If you have a Western Digital drive, it WONT work. I also had problems formatting the drive and installing games using HDLoader. Here is what worked for me:

Install the harddive on your PC and download WinHIIP. This program will format it and allow you to make 1:1 copies on the drive. If you have ISO's, mount them to a virtual drive first. Then install the drive to your PS2 and boot up with HDLoader.

Just use HDLoader to browse and boot installed games.

So if i put my PS2 HD in my PC, can i also donwload PS2 games on it? ie. http://suprnova.tk . and if i install the PS2 HD in my PC, will everything on it be erased?

Just plug the harddrive into your PS2, and do NOT format it, etc with Windows, then everything on this drive will be OK. You can add, delete, any backup on the drive. If a game or program can be put on a CD or DVD for the PS2, then it can be put on the harddrive.
