can't burn in 4X using 2X

help, not only do I get the error message can't burn in 4X using 2X or 3X I also get SCSI/IDE command aborted?
then I get generic Dual DVD/4X max
then I get could not perform end of disc at once
then I get Burn process failed at 2X(2760 KBS)

what is this?
