You know all my friends modded their xbox. Its awesome because we can play super nintendo games on the xbox. Well, i have a ps2 and was wondering if it is possible how to mod your ps2 to play games off a hard drive and what bios you need. Also any recommendations for mod chips will be great. YAh if you guys can help me with this that be great. Thanks!

the ps2 chips work differently than an xbox chip - an xbox chip replaces your bios completely, while a ps2 injects/modifies portions of the bios as the ps2 is booting (kinda, thats the best way i can think of explaining it) - so that handles your bios question.
As for the HDD, it is possible to boot ps2 games off of it, using apps such as HDloader (google it) - i dont have too much information about emulators, though i believe its possible
As for chip recommendations, i've used magic's and duo's and had no problems with either of those

is their instructions to put those chips in the ps2. Also, with the mod chip can you flash xp stuff from your computer to your ps2, as people do with a modded xbox.

instructions can be found by googling for the chips - they are all pretty much the same install-wise, most around around 20 wires - to give you some idea, most solder points are a little tougher than d0, so if you can do that you should be ok w/ a ps2 (depending on your ps2 version) if you take your time.
as far as ftping, i'm not sure if there is an ftp application but i *believe* hard drive use is mostly limited to playing just ps2 games

Also are their sites of how to put your mod chip in and also setting up your hard drive. Is it possible to put a operating system on your harddrive.
