In another thread, there was someone complaining about the lack of space of his HDD versus the games size.

the user: pjclark1 replied to him
Quote:
there are very few games bigger than 2 gig
Time Crisis 2 is 4.3gig on disk, copy files to PC ad recompile with CDGENPS2 and it becomes 2.3 gig
Other games have big 2gig dummy files at the front, create a txt file, rename it to the dummy files name, recompile with CDGENPS2 and it will be a lot smaller for your PS2 Hard Drive. PS2 HD Handiness will copy the image from your PC to the PS2 HD.
Since this was a little off the subject of the thread(HD Advance vs HD Loader), I decided to start a new one.

Could someone give me a more explicit procedure how to recompile a PS2 game?
Also how can you know if a file is a dummy file or not?
Will I save a lot of space recompiling all my games?

I would really appreaciate being able to fit more games on my HDD(60gig) :-)

Thanks
michely
