I recently added a magic 3.1 to my v. 7 ps2, I then tried to play a ps2 game and was unable to get it to load. Backups, DVDs, and Cds don't wor either. I get a disc read error. I looked around the internet and read about adjusting the laser angle which I did, with no results. Is there anything else I could try involving the laser or is this problem related to the modchip?

probably the modchip, i had the same problem before with dms modchip install on my ps2, it wouldn't let me play my backup nor original games. So i had to take the modchip out.

the install is/was both of your problems . ajusting your laser is poinless unless it did not work before you touched the ps2 .

Does anyone know which wires in particular would be the problem with a magic 3.1 modchip in this case.
