ok, use can use any kind of HDD (not recommanding Western Digial since it's too big), and you can get no more than 120 GB. If you get something over 120 GB (example: 160 GB) it will only read 137 or 127GB. You can find HDD from any computer stores. Install onto your ps2. Now to format, you must have hdloader to do that for you since I formatted mine using hdloader. Also you need hdloader to install and play on your HDD. If you got a modded ps2, get the free hdloader from here http://www.suprnova.org. Ask away if you need more info.

No cables or wires needed, as long as you can hook up a second drive in your PC (if using WinHIIP for backing up to the drive)

Yep. Check your messages. Also, www.filemirrors.com is a great resource to search for shared files. Hint hint...

HDLoader can be searched for on www.filemirrors.com
You need a mod of some kind to install a downloaded copy of HDLoader. A downloaded copy of Swapmagic will not work. Do you currently have a way to boot backups?

I would recommend you buy a Fliptop with Swapmagic discs. Its about $50. This will allow you to boot backups and install any copy of HDLoader.
You could buy HDLoader, but its $40, the program has been outlawed, and many sellers are bogus.
