hd loader unrecognized

When I pop in the hd loader disk, the ps2 tells me to insert a ps2 compatible disk and it won't recognize the disk at all. Thanx for the help.

1.eject the cd
2.pick it up and turn it so it dosent scratch it
3. insert it back in
it will eventually read it just keep doing what i said. had same prob. just have to do it more than once sometimes
