I really would like to know if was to installed a ps2 hardrive would i be able to use action replay codes on backed up games? and if i was to get the official harddrive from sony and can i back up games to it using the hd loader? thanks in advance.

Yes, the official Sony HDD will work but you could get more capacity for your money just buying a standard IDE drive. Not sure about the Action Replay part.
