Running YET ABC (BT) W/Windows XP 1.5Mb Cable looking for speed tips...

Hi all!

Here's my set up
PC Running Windows XP Pro (Firewall off), Big ol HD.
1.5MB Cable modem
Zone Alarm Free firewall
YET ABC (Bit torrent client)

Tried bit torrent a while back running the original version, but got annoyed and stopped. Decided to give it another go, since I have just upgraded to a 1.5Mb cable connection and I've read up on the alternative releases :-)

I'm trying to download a large file from suprnova. The file has 390 Seeds and 2236 DLs. The best Download speed I've had is approx 25K and best(fastest) upload is about 30K. It's now dropped to about 0.6 (DL) and all the while, I'm being "Snubbed" by most other users while they take from me. I understand that it could have something to do with the whole "Credit" thing, whereby you get what you give. That's cool as I've downloaded 40% of the 2.5 Gig file. The link is green on the YET ABC window which would indicate that there is no NAT problem (correct?).

I've been searching around all day and found so many conflicting bits of info I'm now very confused. I know I should be getting some good speeds from my fast connection so If anyone can point me in the direction of a good tutorial or even offer some advice I would be very grateful! I don't have a router and would prefer not to have to buy one.
