Just puschased the latest version with ripper, testcopied Terminator 2 using the simple copy...no problem..BUT using the more sophisticated alternative sees the copy hang-up on the 321 disclaimer during play-back (using a Pioneer dv656). I can get to the movie by going direct to chapter 19 but what I really should have is an auto start like the original 'cos my family are'nt into anything even remotely 'techie'......any ideas???

I am not too familiar with DVD X Copy Platinum..I did use it once though...I assume that if you make a fully functional backup...(menus,etc.) there is compression involved...so if thats the case...why don't you try to use DVD Shrink instead. It will rip most dvd's and allow you to either compress so it will be a true copy or reauthor and exclude what you don't need..then all you have to do is burn it and if you have Nero it is supported.Shrink has been very good for me..worst case scenario..if shrink doesn't rip the movie...dvddecrypter probably will...and then if you need to you can use shrink to compress or you can even write using decrypter.....search the guides on this forum and they will have detailed walkthroughs..One final note...low quality media is the source of many problems...

Many thanx madmax69 for your prompt response, this may surely be the way foreward in the future.
However, I'm sure you'll agree though that this software should live up to expectations (as advertised) and make copies that behave like the original disc (as I'm sure the original writers intended it to).

Thanx again....
