Win media player avi corruption

Hi

Can anyone please help, i captured my video via my digital camcorder with winDV, problem is, the avi
sometimes plays corrupted through windows media player,
other times the same avi plays just fine through win media player, What can i do to correct it?,

I've tried using other media players, they all do the same, i'm suspecting the DV Video Decoder in which windv captures my avi file, but i've updated a fix from microsoft, still not working correctly, i figure it cannot be my avi files themselves because they do in fact work perfectly at on time, but then when i play them back on another time they play a bit corrupted.

Should i upgrade my win media player, i have version 9

Please help anyone!
