I think I'm getting the hang of Scenarist now. I've been teaching myself solid for a week or so.

Where I'm falling down is still the GPRM and SPRM stuff but what is really making me sweat (and swear) is trying to figure out how to create a menu with an On/Off toggle. For example:

Let's say you have Subtitles On/Off and Director's Commentary On/Off on a "Set Up" menu.

Most commercially authored DVDs have subtitles off (and other audio tracks such as a director's commentary), and this is the menu that invites you to switch these features on. So...

You enter the menu and navigating down to "Subtitles", the "On" is highlighted, inviting you to select it. Once selected, the navigation flips down to "Play Movie" or whatever, and the "Off" button is now selectable. In fact, you can't navigate back to any "On" button, only the "Off" How the hell do they do this?! I really want to know!

Now, I *think* it has something to do with GPRM. In fact I'm guessing you check whether the subpicture is "on" or "off" in the "Pre" functionality of the setup menu PGC. Then you can set which button is highlighted before the viewer sees the menu. But I really don't know where to start, and how they make the "Off" button invisible throws me completely.

Any expert out there able to help? Many thanks.

Chris.
